CONTENT FOR APPLE TV+

Apple TV+ approached DAZN to help launch their then-unknown series Ted Lasso, a comedy about an American football coach who comes to manage in the Premier League – with almost no knowledge of the British game. I came up with the idea of an impromptu meeting between Lasso (played by Jason Sudeikis) and José Mourinho – one of the most successful football managers of all time – while they were both sitting down to watch the UEFA Champions League Final, and then wrote the scripts in collaboration with Sudeikis. The sketches were premiered live on DAZN during half-time and full-time of the UCL Final, creating a ‘Super Bowl moment’ during the biggest global football match of the year.

The films clearly made an impression on José – he referenced them a few weeks later during a Spurs press conference.
